Confirmation is the sacrament of initiation in which a baptized Catholic, through prayers, imposition of hands and the anointing with chrism, receives a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit that completes Baptismal grace.
This sacrament impresses a character, and by it the baptized, continuing on the path of Christian initiation, are enriched by the gifts of the Holy Spirit and bound more perfectly to the Church. It strengthens them and obliges them more firmly to be witnesses to Christ by word and deed and to spread and defend the faith!
Confirmation for teens is celebrated during the 10th grade of High School (sophomore
year). Sacramental preparation for teens will occur within the regular youth ministry program which meets on Sunday nights.
In order for teens to receive the sacrament of confirmation, they must be enrolled in our religious education program for two (2) consecutive years before they receive the sacrament.
Registration for our Teen Confirmation program begins in August and goes through the beginning of September.
