Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband; and I heard a great voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling of God is with men. He will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself will be with them” (Rev 21:1-3).
Though we will not know the full splendor and glory of worshipping God until we reach heaven and join with the angels and saints, we do know that God does bring heaven to earth for us. It happens at every Mass! So, we who are members of Christ’s Church, his bride, do all that we can to enhance our prayerful experience in the physical space of our church building.
It is my hope that the changes to our worship space — the side-altars for Mary and Joseph, and most especially the Sanctuary — helps bring the focus on Jesus, the Lamb of God, and enhances the Mass for each and every one of God’s children who come here to pray and worship.
I wish to express a sincere and big THANK-YOU to everyone involved with the project to make our worship space more beautiful and focused on Christ. Many parishioners here at St. Christopher aided the project, providing food for workers, cleaning up (again and again), painting, and in many other ways.
Also, we as a parish thank especially the workers who volunteered so much time and talent to the creation of these enrichments. They donated all of this energy for many days to make this happen as quickly and beautifully as they did. Please support them — they are my friends and yours. You can do so by supporting their family business:
