Florence Lopez Anderson, 74, of Marana, Arizona, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2022. Born October 4, 1947; she is survived by her Husband, Samuel Anderson; 2 sons Ralph Duarte, Armando Duarte (Sarah); and daughter, Ana Dozier (Camron). Grandchildren: Elizabeth, Caitlin, Gina, and Daxton and great-grandson: Greyson. Siblings: Suzy, Felix, Blanca, and Lupe. Preceded in death by her parents and siblings Mary, Amada, and Amelia.
Born in La Mesa, Texas to Graciano and Ana Lopez, she was the youngest of 8 children. As a young child she moved to Marana, Arizona and graduated from Marana High School class of 1968. She eventually went to work for MUSD where she drove a school bus for 19 years.
After retiring, Flo stayed active in the community by working as a crossing guard, volunteering at a local hospital, and working at Cracker Barrel. Flo also kept busy caring for her family. She loved to cook, bake, and sew. People were drawn to her kindness and generous spirit.
Known to many as “Lencha”, family was always her first priority and she would always have food ready for any visitor that wanted to pop in and chat. She would also insist on sending everyone home with “lunch for tomorrow”. Flo’s love and pride for her children was evident as she was quick to show new pictures and talk about her children and grand children’s accomplishments.
Flo’s family would like to thank those who have offered prayers and condolences. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in her name to the COPDfoundation.org.
